Khoja Ali Ramitani 🕌

The memorial complex of Khoja Ali Ramitani is the burial place of the famous spiritual master of the Sufi school of Hajagan. The people called the Sufi “Azizkhon” – the venerable sheikh. Born at the end of the 12th century in the city of Ramitan, he has been professionally weaving throughout his life. He was a student of Mahmoud Fagnawi.


Ali Ramitani succeeded in the impossible – he converted the Mongols to Islam. He helped to restore the scattered lands after the invasion of the Mongols and was engaged in healing. Legend has it that the Sufi was able to read people’s thoughts and answer questions asked before they were voiced aloud. During his long and righteous life, he had many disciples, among whom were his sons. He bequeathed to his youngest son Haji Ibrahim to continue his teaching.


One of the most famous spiritual leaders is Hoja Azizona (Ali Romitani). He is also known as Azizon (Honourable Sheikh). He was born in 1195 in Kurgan and worked as weaver. Thanks to him, the Mongol khans accepted Islam, believing that they are miracle-worker.
There were four famous caliphs of Khwaja Ali ar Romitani, all of whom were named Muhammad: Khwaja Muhammad Ku Lokhduz. Khoja Muhammad Halloj, Khoja Muhammad Bovardi, Khoja Muhammad Samoski.


His authority was very high, his deeds were great, and his profession was a weaver. The date of death of Khoja Ali Romitani is indicated as 1310 in Ali Safi's "Rashalot" and 1321 in Muhammad Bakir's "Maqamoti Shahi Naqshband". After living for 130 years, they die in Kukhna Urganj. The tombs are a prosperous shrine in old Urganj. The village of Kurgan, where Khoja Ali Romitani was born, has a sacred shrine and symbolic graves. This land has also been turned into a prosperous pilgrimage site. This kind of sharif is considered the piri murshid of the thirteenth circle in "Silsilai sharif". Khwaja Ali received the lesson of Tariqat from Khwaja Mahmud Anjir Fagnavi. According to the sources, Khoja Ali was a man with a bright face, medium height, and all his limbs were in proportion to each other. They did not appreciate the wealth of the world, they considered poverty as a great state.
